"America's Premier Inspection Service"
Inspection Services

At NPI, our professionals are trained to perform unbiased, visual home inspections. Our inspectors assess each home from roof to foundation to identify safety issues and describe the current conditions of the property.

Your inspector will walk you step by step through significant findings. Following the inspection, you will receive an easy-to-read, thorough, computer-generated report for your records, which will assist you in purchase negotiations, warranty repairs or when making future maintenance decisions.

We encourage you to allow time to attend the inspection so we can walk through the home with you, pointing out our findings and explaining elements of the report.

Our inspection services include the following:

  • Homebuyer’s Preclosing Inspections
Sometimes referred to as "general home inspections," these are inspections completed prior to closing on either brand-new or existing housing. The inspection covers hundreds of components in the home and includes a written report that clearly outlines safety concerns and the home's current condition. The report gives buyers the information they need to make the best decision and prepare for future maintenance.
  • Homeseller’s Prelisting Inspections
This is a general home inspection completed prior to listing or selling a home to give the current owners an idea of maintenance items to address. A prelisting inspection also helps inspire confidence in prospective buyers regarding the condition of the home and reduces time spent in contract negotiation because an unbiased, independent inspector has reviewed all major systems.
  • New-construction Draw Inspections
Construction draw inspections are conducted for property owners or construction lenders during the construction process to determine the percentage of project completion at various stages of the construction process. NPI’s construction draw inspections allow for the appropriate amount of funding to be released to the contractor at specific points in time over the life of the construction project. Timing and reports for these inspections are customized to fit the client's needs.
  • New-home Construction Inspections
NPI inspects new homes for home buyers or builders upon the completion of construction. This protects the home buyer by identifying any deficiencies that can be corrected prior to taking possession of the new home.
  • New-home Builder’s Warranty Inspections
Most brand-new home builders provide homeowners with a 12-month builder’s warranty. Ordering an inspection before the warranty expires gives the homeowner a professionally prepared report to review with the builder to address possible issues. If repairs are not needed, then the inspection provides peace of mind regarding the quality of the new home.
  • Employee Relocation Home Inspections
Time is generally of the essence when a family is relocated for business purposes. Prior to beginning negotiations for purchase of a home, relocation companies generally order a home inspection to determine the need for repair and maintenance.
  • Wisconsin Weatherization Assistance Program Inspections
These inspections are done on houses for which a home owner has applied for the Wisconsin Weatherization Assistance Program. The inspections include preinspections to determine whether a home qualifies for assistance; an energy audit, which determines what components in a house qualify to be replaced under the program regulations; final inspections to determine that work performed by the contractors meets the program regulations; and emergency furnace inspections, which determine that the work performed by the contractors meets the program regulations.
  • Radon Testing
Radon testing is typically ordered with a home inspection; however, the testing can also occur separately from a home inspection.
  • Energy Audit
An energy audit helps determine what components within the home may have issues that can be repaired to obtain the most energy efficiency.
